Question: How do I login?

Question: I have X (XP, Vista, MAC) operating system. Is it compatible?

Answer: SkillPort is compatible with all Windows Operating systems and Mac OS X or higher.

All operating systems require a full version of Sun Java ( http://www.Java.com ) and Adobe Flash ( http://www.Adobe.com ), which can be downloaded for free at the respective sites.

Currently ''Google Chrome'' and , for Mac Users, ''Firefox'' are not currently recommended browsers due to various intermittent problems. Hopefully this will be rectified in the near future.

Question: When I click "launch" nothing happens.Why doesn't my course load?

Answer: You may have an active Pop-up blocker.

*For Internet Explorer users , go to "Tools" and click "Internet Options" from the drop down menu.Click on the "Privacy" tab and then uncheck the box marked "Turn on Pop-up blocker" Click "Apply" to close.

*For Firefox users, go to "Tools" and click "Options" from the drop down menu.Click on the "Content" tab and then uncheck the box marked "Block Pop-up Windows". Click "OK" to close.

*For Safari users , click the "Safari" button and choose "Preferences" from the pull down menu. Click on the "Security" tab and uncheck the box marked "Block pop-up windows".Click "X" to close.

Notice

If you have any toolbars such as ''Google Toolbar'' , ''Yahoo Toolbar'' or ''Ask Toolbar'' , many of them have Pop-up blockers that act independently of the browser. You must disable to toolbar ( Click the "X" to the far left of the toolbar ) to effectively turn of the pop-up blocker they contain.

As a last resort , you can hold the "CTRL" key while clicking launch. This often acts as a temporary "Allow Pop-ups"

Question: After I put in my user name and password, I get a message
that says "Login in Process..." and it just hangs there. What happened?

Answer: The system was trying to activate the Java Console on your PC but for one reason or another, it was unable to do so.

Try going through the instructions below to fix the problem:

To verify that you have Java,click "Start" and then go to the "Control Panel" and "Add/Remove Programs" ("Programs" for Vista and Windows 7 users).

Wait for the list to populate. The list is in alphabetical order; go to "J".

*If you should find "Java runtime", "JRE", "Sun Java" “or any variation on these, you have java installed.

*If you do not find Java- Click on the following link to download Java -http://www.java.com (when asked to run or save, choose “save” and have it save to your desktop)then right-click over the java icon on the desktop and choose “Run as Administrator”(or"Run" for 2000/XP users) to install Java.

Question: I forgot my password. What can I do?

Answer: Click here and type in your username, then click "Forgot your password?". located at the bottom center of the page.

SkillPort will email you a new password to the email account you provided when you first signed up. Go to your email, retrieve the password and continue on your road to success!
